CCEI CID-M+ Distribution Box: The Box with a Dedicated Heat Pump Output
The CCEI CID-M+ distribution box is specially designed for swimming pool installations equipped with a heat pump. In addition to a classic C-curve output for your standard equipment, it includes a D-curve output that absorbs current peaks when your heat pump starts, thus preventing untimely power cuts.
Why a D-curve output for the heat pump?
When starting, a heat pump's compressor draws a much higher current for a few seconds than its normal operating current: this is called inrush current. A standard C-curve circuit breaker can interpret this peak as a short circuit and trip. The CID-M+'s D-curve circuit breaker is time-delayed to tolerate these transient current surges, ensuring reliable heat pump startup without interruption.
How to choose the amperage of your D-curve output?
The CID-M+ is available in three versions depending on your heat pump's power. Consult your heat pump's technical manual for the maximum absorbed current, then choose the corresponding rating: 10A for low-power heat pumps (pools up to 30-40 m³), 16A for medium-power heat pumps, and 20A for the most powerful models. If in doubt, choose the next higher rating than the value indicated by your heat pump manufacturer.
Composition and outputs of the CID-M+
Each CID-M+ includes a 30 mA differential switch at the head of the box, a 16A C-curve output for powering your classic equipment (filter box, lighting, water treatment), and a D-curve output with the chosen rating for your heat pump. All modular components are pre-wired at the factory by CCEI.
Single-phase and three-phase compatible
Like all boxes in the range, the CID-M+ operates with a 230V single-phase power supply and can be configured for a three-phase installation. This flexibility allows it to be integrated into any residential electrical configuration.
A compact and protected box
The CID-M+ casing opens quickly via its 4 front screws to access the connection terminals. The transparent front window protects the components from water splashes and dust in the technical room. The box is wall-mounted and offers clear access for any maintenance or inspection operations.
CID-M+ or CLT-M+: which to choose?
The CID-M+ is the right choice if your installation has a limited number of pieces of equipment: typically a filter box and a heat pump. If your technical room is more complete (filtration, heat pump, lighting, water treatment), opt for the CLT-M+, which offers a total of 4 outputs, including a D-curve output for the heat pump. CCEI guarantees this product for 2 years.

Frequently Asked Questions about the CCEI CID-M+ Distribution Box
The D-curve output is specifically designed for connecting a heat pump. Unlike the C-curve circuit breaker, it tolerates current peaks during the heat pump compressor's start-up without tripping, thus avoiding untimely power cuts.
The amperage of the D-curve output must correspond to the maximum current drawn by your heat pump, as indicated in its technical manual. Generally: 10A for low-power heat pumps (pools up to 30-40 m³), 16A for intermediate powers, and 20A for the most powerful models. When in doubt, choose the higher rating.
Technically yes, a D-curve circuit breaker protects all types of equipment. However, it is mainly useful for devices with high inrush current, such as heat pumps or motors. For standard equipment, a C-curve output is sufficient.
If you plan to install a heat pump in the future, the CID-M+ is a wise choice for anticipation. In the meantime, the D-curve output can power other equipment without any problem.
The CID-M+ has 2 outputs (1 C-curve + 1 D-curve) and is suitable for simple installations with a heat pump. The CLT-M+ has 4 outputs (3 C-curve + 1 D-curve) and is suitable for more complete installations with multiple pieces of equipment in addition to the heat pump.
Yes. The CID-M+ includes a 30 mA residual current device that cuts off power in case of current leakage, protecting people from the risk of electric shock.
Yes. The box is compatible with 230V single-phase installations and can be configured for three-phase power.
Yes, all internal components (residual current device, circuit breakers, terminal blocks) are factory-wired. All that remains is to connect your power and equipment cables.
The CID-M+ is a compact box with 2 fixed outputs. If you need more outputs, it is preferable to choose a CLT-M+ directly or add a second CID-M box as a supplement.
The CID-M+ box is guaranteed for 2 years by CCEI, a French manufacturer specialized in electrical equipment for swimming pools for over 40 years.
