All year round, it is essential to monitor your pool to keep it clean: in winter to avoid complications when restarting it, and in summer, of course, to be able to fully enjoy it! While we generally think of equipment such as the filtration pump, cleaning robots, electrical control box, LED lighting, etc., know that the proper functioning of your pool also depends on its spare parts!
In this article, we will tell you about the essential spare parts of your equipment that can break down and are necessary to continue using your pool. It's a bit like getting a flat tire on the highway when going on vacation and discovering there's no spare...
The control box mainly allows you to manage the filtration pump and protect it against over and under-voltages. For this, it is generally equipped with a magneto-thermal circuit breaker suitable for the pump's current and a programming clock to define the filtration operating times.
For electrical control boxes, we offer a range of effective circuit breakers compatible with all standard control boxes on the market. They are installed on DIN-type rails. You can thus replace your circuit breaker in a few minutes and easily reconnect your filtration pump.
To manage your pump's operation, you often use a programming clock that allows you to define the half-hours or hours when filtration starts in the pool. These clocks can break down over time, and it is necessary to replace them if you want to automate your pool. We offer different types of standard clocks for your control boxes: built-in or for DIN rail mounting.
The central element for effective pool lighting remains the projector power supply control box. Without them, there's no light in your pool! They are all equipped with a toroidal transformer allowing for a 12V voltage, which is mandatory for using lighting in the pool.
After a few years of use, the risk of the transformer failing increases (overheating, overvoltage, etc.) and it must then be replaced. At Pool Planet, we offer standard 220/12V transformers of different powers for your projector power supply control box. Enough to enjoy a luminous pool!
If you opt for salt water pool treatment, you will need an electrolyzer and a cell. The latter is equipped with titanium plates that are powered by the electrolysis control box to produce chlorine from the salt present in the water.
An electrolyzer cell has a lifespan that can vary from 4 to 12 years, depending on the water hardness or even the scale present in the region. It is necessary to maintain it well so that it lasts as long as possible! Because if it breaks down, the entire water treatment of your pool is "at risk": your electrolyzer no longer works, it no longer produces chlorine, and the water will start to turn green.
At Pool Planet, we offer a range of electrolysis cells compatible with all devices manufactured by CCEI, but also compatible with other brands.
Water treatment is not only carried out by the electrolyzer or any other type of disinfectant: regulation devices (mainly pH) and testers are also essential, as they allow you to measure the elements present in your pool water.
It is therefore necessary to have quality devices for calibrating your probes or for testing pH or salt. At Pool Planet, we offer a whole range of effective solutions and electronic testers at affordable prices, making your daily life easier!
For pH regulation, you can get a dosing pump when it breaks down, or choose to replace only the santoprene tube inside (or the dosing roller). This way, all water treatment remains effective without being disrupted by a small defective part.

With all these elements, you have the cards in hand to maintain your pool! We haven't covered lighting renovation, as that was already done in a previous article!
Happy swimming!
