Forget old halogen or incandescent bulbs for your pool: switch to LED lighting! More reliable, more economical, and more diverse, LED technology is the ideal solution for effective lighting while simplifying your life. At Pool Planet, we explain all the benefits of LED bulbs for your pool.
LED Bulbs for Pools: Save Money
LED Pool Lighting: What's the Consumption?
This is the real strength of LEDs compared to incandescent bulbs. Traditionally, these incandescent bulbs consume 300W when lit. Under the same conditions, LED lighting will consume a maximum of 90-100W depending on the model.
For almost similar lighting, we recommend opting for 40W lighting with exceptional light output (100 lm/W).
Economical Bulbs
The lifespan of an LED bulb can be, depending on use, up to 6 years without incident. Know that during the same period, it is necessary to change an incandescent bulb at least 3 or 4 times! This means savings, and these are not the only ones, as they also apply to the purchase price.
A few years ago, the price of LEDs was exorbitant, but that era is over: now, the technology has spread, and the price has dropped. For example, a 110 € LED bulb lasts several years, while a classic 40 € bulb needs to be changed more quickly. After four incandescent bulb changes, you will have spent between 160 and 200 € compared to just one LED bulb.
Regarding your electricity bill, LED lighting consumes 6 times less electricity than an incandescent bulb. Thus, if an LED bulb lasts 15,000 h, you will save approximately 7500 kWh on your bill (spread over 3-4 years).
A Wide Choice of LED Bulbs for Your Pool
Which LED bulb for my pool?
Another advantage of LED bulbs: the choice of lighting.
An incandescent bulb necessarily has warm white lighting. This is not the case for LED bulbs: you can opt for warm white lighting (more of a sunny yellow), cool white (which tends towards crystal blue), or for color. Crystal clear appearance for your pool or multicolored lighting with remote color change (with a smartphone), it's up to you! Thanks to the additive synthesis of primary colors, RGB LED pool projectors can produce up to 16 million colors.
Which projector for my pool?
Once the color is chosen, it remains to select the right projectors to obtain uniform lighting in the pool. Rather than selecting based on power (in Watts), we will focus more on another technical characteristic: the luminous flux expressed in lumens. Thus, a European standard for public pools gives the instruction to respect a luminous flux of 80 lm / m² (in white lighting). So for a 24 m² pool, a minimum luminous flux of 1920 lm is needed, which corresponds to two 20W projectors or one 40W projector. Now, for your pool, you can easily calculate your ideal luminous flux.
To replace traditional lighting, you can find several solutions adapted for renovation. If you have a projector with a wall bracket, the Stella equipped with a Stella Clip may be compatible (to be checked on the product page). For classic bulbs, the most common on the market, we offer the PAR56 niche projector range.
Chroma and Nova Projectors: Design for Your Pool
Chroma and Nova projectors are lights that replace classic bulbs, installed in a housing in the niche. With these solutions, you install the projectors directly into the niche; the adjustable mounting brackets allow for adapting the projector's position. The flat design trim covers the niche. This way, you change your lighting and add a design element to your pool.
Why choose a connected control system for pool lighting?
CCEI connected lighting control systems allow you to remotely control your pool's LED lighting via smartphone or tablet, thus adapting lighting parameters according to needs and preferences. With already energy-efficient LED technology, this remote control further optimizes energy consumption.
Substantial savings in energy and money
Connected LED lighting consumes up to 6 times less electricity than an incandescent bulb, and with intelligent management, this consumption can be reduced even further. For example, power can be adjusted according to the time of day, limiting lighting to actual needs and allowing savings of about 50 to 60% compared to traditional lighting systems.
Moreover, thanks to a lifespan of LEDs that can reach up to 15,000 hours, bulb replacements become rare, and maintenance costs are significantly reduced.
Total control of colors and ambiance
CCEI lighting allows you to choose the color for your pool's lighting, to create varied ambiances. This option is not only aesthetic but also economical, as RGB LEDs consume little energy even when producing vibrant colors. Furthermore, instant adjustment via a mobile application allows you to turn off the lighting remotely if necessary, eliminating energy waste.
