Avant de commencer

Coupez l'alimentation de votre régulateur et arrêtez la pompe de filtration. Fermez les vannes d'isolement si votre installation en dispose, sinon prévoyez que la canalisation se vide au moment du démontage.

  1. Retirer l'ancienne sonde

    Débranchez la fiche BNC à l'arrière du régulateur : enfoncez légèrement, tournez d'un quart de tour dans le sens inverse des aiguilles d'une montre, puis retirez. Desserrez ensuite l'écrou du porte-sonde et sortez l'ancienne électrode. Comparez immédiatement les deux sondes côte à côte : longueur, diamètre et joints doivent être identiques.

  2. Préparer la nouvelle sonde

    Retirez son capuchon de protection et conservez-le : il servira à l'hivernage. Rincez délicatement l'extrémité en verre à l'eau claire, sans jamais la frotter ni l'essuyer avec un tissu — la membrane sensible se raye et se démagnétise au contact.

  3. Monter la sonde sur le porte-sonde

    Assemblez les pièces dans l'ordre du porte-sonde d'origine : support, joint torique, rondelle de portée, rondelle de frein, écrou. Vissez l'écrou sans le bloquer, enfoncez doucement la sonde jusqu'au fond de la canalisation, puis relevez-la d'environ 2 cm pour que l'extrémité se trouve au milieu du tuyau. Terminez le serrage à la main.

  4. Raccorder à l'appareil

    Enfichez la fiche BNC sur la prise du régulateur, puis tournez d'un quart de tour pour verrouiller la connexion. Vérifiez que le câble n'est ni pincé ni écrasé : un câble abîmé provoque des mesures erratiques, et c'est l'une des causes les plus fréquentes de sonde jugée défectueuse à tort.

  5. Étalonner impérativement

    Une sonde neuve n'est jamais calibrée sur votre appareil. Remettez la filtration en route, laissez la mesure se stabiliser, puis lancez la procédure d'étalonnage de votre régulateur avec les solutions tampon correspondantes — pH 7 seul sur certains modèles, pH 7 et pH 9 sur d'autres. Sans cette étape, le régulateur affichera une valeur plausible mais fausse, et injectera du correcteur au mauvais moment.

    Si votre appareil affiche une qualité de sonde après étalonnage, notez la valeur obtenue : elle sert de référence pour suivre le vieillissement de l'électrode dans les saisons suivantes.

Entretien et durée de vie

Une pellicule de calcaire se dépose progressivement sur l'élément sensible et allonge le temps de réponse. Nettoyez la sonde avec une solution dédiée aux électrodes pH, jamais avec un produit acide domestique. Réétalonnez au début de chaque saison et dès qu'une mesure paraît incohérente.

À l'hivernage, retirez la sonde de l'installation, nettoyez-la, remettez son capuchon rempli au tiers de solution de conservation et stockez-la hors gel, à température ambiante.
