Piezo MPZ CCEI Control Module: The Brain of the Piezoelectric System
The Piezo MPZ control module from CCEI is the intelligent receiver that links the piezoelectric button installed in the coping with the equipment to be controlled in the plant room. It receives the signal generated by pressing the Piezo button and, in turn, controls the activation or deactivation of the counter-current swimming pump, blower, massage pump, lighting, or any other device connected to its two output relays. It is the essential component for any CCEI Piezo installation that does not use the Piccolo PI-NCC PZ control box (in which the module is already integrated).
The MPZ mounts on a standard DIN rail (OMEGA rail) inside an existing electrical panel, making it an ideal upgrade solution for adding piezoelectric control to an existing panel. Its universal power supply (85 to 265V AC, 7 to 440 Hz) makes it compatible with all French and European domestic electrical installations. Its power consumption is very low (6W maximum) and its compact size of 2 DIN modules (90 × 36 × 56 mm) for a weight of only 280 grams.
Four Operating Modes for All Configurations
The MPZ offers four selectable operating modes to adapt to the desired use. The non-timed latching relay mode functions as a simple on/off: one press on the button activates the relay, a second press turns it off. The timed latching relay mode adds automatic shutdown after a predefined duration, which is particularly useful for counter-current swimming or massage (the system stops by itself after the session). The non-timed sequencer mode allows controlling the two relays according to programmed sequences, for example, to alternate between two pumps. The timed sequencer mode combines sequences and timings for the most complex scenarios.
Available timings cover a wide range: deactivated, 3 seconds, 30 seconds, 3 minutes, 15 minutes, 30 minutes, 1 hour, 2 hours, or 4 hours. This granularity allows for precise configuration of the duration of counter-current swimming, massage, or fountain operation sessions.
RGB Light Feedback: System Status at a Glance
When the MPZ is associated with a lighted Piezo button (monochrome or RGB), the button's color automatically changes according to the state of the two outputs. The user instantly knows if the pump is running, stopped, or in what sequence the system is, without having to go to the plant room. A beaconing mode can also be configured so that the button remains slightly lit continuously, making it easier to locate at night by the poolside.
Local Control on the Front Panel
In addition to remote control via the Piezo button, the MPZ module has a control button on the front panel that allows activating or deactivating the relays directly from the electrical panel in the plant room. This function is valuable during installation, troubleshooting, or when quick intervention is desired without having to go to the poolside.
The CCEI Piezo System: Three Complementary Components
The complete Piezo system consists of three elements. The MPZ control module (this product) is the intelligent receiver installed in the control box. The Piezo button is the user interface installed in the coping, available in POM plastic or 316L stainless steel with RGB lighting. The wall conduit ensures the watertightness of the cable's passage through the pool structure. The button and wall conduit are sold separately on Pool Planet.
For new installations, the Piccolo PI-NCC PZ control box already integrates the MPZ module and only requires the addition of the Piezo button and wall conduit. The MPZ module sold alone is intended for existing installations that already have a DIN rail electrical panel and wish to upgrade to piezoelectric control.
Installation Conditions and Safety
The MPZ module has an IP10 protection rating: it must imperatively be integrated into a closed electrical panel, protected from rain, cleaning jets, irrigation, and UV rays. The panel must be placed on a flat and stable support, securely fixed to the wall. The electrical connection must be made by a qualified professional in compliance with current standards.
