CCEI Pool Light Trim Ring for Mini-Brio 2, Mini-Brio+, and Mini-Brio Switch

The trim rings for Mini-Brio CCEI lights are aesthetic finishing parts that attach around the LED light once it is screwed onto the pool's return fitting. Their role is purely decorative: they allow for masking the light's metallic bezel and harmonizing its appearance with the pool lining. The trim ring clips or screws onto the light's mounting ring, creating a flush and discreet finish with a thickness of only 3 mm. This is an accessory sold separately, essential for achieving a clean and professional look after installing a CCEI screw-in mini-light.

These trim rings are compatible with second-generation Mini-Brio lights (Mini-Brio 2, Mini-Brio+, Mini-Brio Switch) that screw onto a 1.5-inch return fitting. They are not compatible with older first-generation Mini-Brio models (references PK10R300, PK10R301, PK10R302, PK10R303), which use a different mounting system.

Four Ranges of Trim Rings: Colored ABS (Chroma 2, Bahia XI 2) or Brushed Stainless Steel (Nova 2, Bahia 2)

CCEI offers four ranges of trim rings to adapt to all pool styles. The ranges are distinguished by their manufacturing material and available colors.

Mini-Chroma 2 (Colored ABS, 4 colors): High-resistance ABS plastic trim ring, available in 4 colors (white, light grey, anthracite, sand). ABS is perfectly resistant to UV, chlorine, and temperature variations. This range offers the best value for money and allows for precise color matching with light-colored, grey, or sand liners or polyester shells.

Mini-Bahia XI 2 (Colored ABS, 3 colors): Also made of ABS, this range offers 3 colors (white, grey, black). It differs from Mini-Chroma 2 by slightly different shades and a specific surface design. Black is particularly sought after for pools with black or slate grey liners, where it allows for perfect integration of the light.

Mini-Nova 2 (Brushed Stainless Steel): Trim ring in brushed 316L stainless steel, a high-end material known for its exceptional durability and contemporary look. 316L stainless steel resists corrosion even in saline environments (saltwater pools), never yellows, and maintains its shiny appearance for decades. This trim ring adds a modern and elegant touch, particularly suitable for infinity pools, mirror pools, or designer pools with natural stone coping or grey tiles.

Mini-Bahia 2 (Brushed Stainless Steel): Also in brushed 316L stainless steel, this range shares the same qualities as the Mini-Nova 2 (corrosion resistance, durability, contemporary aesthetics). The differences between Mini-Nova 2 and Mini-Bahia 2 concern the surface design and potentially the thickness of the flange, but the technical performances are identical.

How to choose the right trim ring for your pool?

The choice of trim ring depends on two main criteria: the desired material (ABS or stainless steel) and the color of your pool lining.

Pools with white, light beige, sand liners: Opt for a white ABS trim ring (Mini-Chroma 2 or Mini-Bahia XI 2) or sand (Mini-Chroma 2). White is the most common choice for traditional pools with light blue or white liners, as it blends into the lining and remains very discreet.

Pools with light grey, blue-grey liners: Choose a light grey ABS trim ring (Mini-Chroma 2) or grey (Mini-Bahia XI 2). These shades harmonize perfectly with the trendy grey liners that are increasingly common.

Pools with anthracite, dark grey, black liners: Select an anthracite ABS trim ring (Mini-Chroma 2) or black (Mini-Bahia XI 2). Black offers complete integration on dark liners, where a white or grey trim ring would create an unsightly contrast.

Designer, mirror, infinity pools, grey tiled pools: Prefer a brushed stainless steel trim ring (Mini-Nova 2 or Mini-Bahia 2). Stainless steel provides a high-end finish that matches noble materials (natural stone, porcelain stoneware tiles, granite coping). It is particularly recommended for contemporary pools where aesthetics are a key criterion.

Saltwater pools with electrolyzers: Opt for 316L stainless steel (Mini-Nova 2 or Mini-Bahia 2) for maximum durability in a saline environment. ABS is also salt-resistant, but stainless steel offers superior longevity and no risk of long-term discoloration.

Simple Installation by Clipping or Screwing onto the Light

The trim ring is installed after the Mini-Brio light is placed on the 1.5-inch return fitting. Once the light is screwed in and the cable connected, the trim ring attaches by clipping or screwing (depending on the model) onto the light's mounting ring. The operation takes a few seconds and requires no special tools for clip-on models. Some stainless steel trim rings may use a retaining screw to ensure perfect hold over time.

The resulting finish is flush with the pool wall, with a thickness of only 3 mm that creates no roughness. The trim ring completely covers the metallic bezel of the light, leaving only the LED protection glass and the trim ring itself visible.

Compatibility with 2nd Generation Mini-Brio Lights

These trim rings are compatible with all second-generation Mini-Brio lights, meaning models introduced by CCEI from 2020 onwards. Here are the compatible references:

Mini-Brio 2 (fixed lights with integrated cable): PK10R311 (cool white), PK10R312 (warm white), PK10R313 (RGBW colors).

Mini-Brio+ (quick-connect lights, without integrated cable): PK10R314 (cool white), PK10R315 (warm white), PK10R316 (RGB colors).

Mini-Brio Switch (disconnectable connector lights for renovation): PK10R321, PK10R322, PK10R323, version with female plug allowing replacement without changing the existing cable.

However, these trim rings are not compatible with older first-generation Mini-Brio lights (references PK10R300, PK10R301, PK10R302, PK10R303), which use a different mounting system and collar diameter. If you own an older Mini-Brio, check your light's reference before ordering a trim ring.

Durable Materials: UV-resistant ABS or Marine Grade 316L Stainless Steel

ABS trim rings (Mini-Chroma 2, Mini-Bahia XI 2) are made of mass-tinted ABS (Acrylonitrile Butadiene Styrene), a thermoplastic polymer known for its resistance to shocks, UV, and pool chemicals (chlorine, bromine, salt). ABS does not discolor in the sun and retains its original shade throughout the life of the light (10 to 15 years). It withstands extreme temperatures (-20 °C to +60 °C) and does not become brittle over time.

Stainless steel trim rings (Mini-Nova 2, Mini-Bahia 2) are machined from brushed 316L stainless steel, the most corrosion-resistant alloy in aquatic environments. 316L contains molybdenum (2 to 3%), making it particularly suitable for saline and chlorinated environments. It never rusts, does not yellow, and retains its shiny brushed appearance for decades without maintenance treatment. 316L stainless steel is the benchmark material in the nautical industry and high-end pools.

Essential Accessory for a Professional Finish

Although sold separately from the light, the trim ring is an essential accessory for a neat installation. Without a trim ring, the light's metallic bezel remains visible, creating an unsightly contrast with the pool lining. The trim ring transforms the light's appearance by making it almost invisible: only the LED protection glass remains visible, while the rest of the light blends into the color of the liner or shell.

This discreet finish is particularly important for pools equipped with several lights (3, 4, or 6 mini-lights distributed around the pool): lights without trim rings would draw the eye and detract from the pool's overall aesthetic. With trim rings matching the lining, the lights become invisible by day and only reveal themselves at night when the LED lighting turns on.

Why buy a trim ring separately rather than as a pack with the light?

CCEI sells trim rings separately to allow each pool owner to choose the color and material adapted to their lining. Since each pool has a liner or shell of a different color (white, grey, sand, black, etc.), it would be impossible to offer a universal trim ring that harmonizes with all pools. By selling the trim rings separately, CCEI offers maximum customization: you buy the light according to your lighting needs (cool white, warm white, RGB, RGBW), then you select the trim ring according to the desired color and material.

This also allows for replacing a damaged or discolored trim ring without changing the entire light. In case of impact (ball, toy, pool robot hitting the light) or scratch, simply order a new trim ring for €12 rather than replacing the entire light + trim ring assembly.
