Pack of 5 CCEI Stainless Steel Level Sensors: Renew Your Entire Detection System

After several years of service, the level sensors of your CCEI regulator can lose sensitivity due to limescale deposits, biofilm, or the natural aging of the contacts. Rather than replacing the sensors one by one as they fail, this pack of 5 CCEI SE-1 stainless steel level sensors with cabling allows you to refurbish the entire detection system in a single operation. This is the most reliable solution to start fresh and ensure homogeneous operation of all sensors.

The 5 sensors are made of stainless steel resistant to corrosion caused by chlorine, bromine, and salt. They operate by electronic detection (contact or capacitance variation), without any moving mechanical parts. This principle eliminates the risk of blockage by debris and ensures reliability for 10 to 15 years under normal use.

Compatibility with CCEI Control Boxes

This pack of 5 SE-1 sensors is compatible with all CCEI multi-sensor level control boxes. The NIVA 5 (ref. PF10L008) uses 5 sensors to control filling, overflow, and low water safety for infinity pools with a surge tank. The CRBTRN (ref. PF10L011) performs the same functions in a compact box. The Lineo 5S and the CRNSE complete the range with configurations adapted to other types of installations.

The pack can also serve as a spare stock for NIVA 3 boxes (ref. PF10L009), which only use 3 sensors: the remaining 2 sensors then become readily available spare parts in case of future need.

Please note: these sensors are not compatible with the RNS-2 box, which uses a specific 3-point sensor (ref. SE-3) with a 10-meter cable. Check the exact model of your control box before ordering.

Why Replace All Sensors at Once?

When one sensor begins to show signs of weakness (erratic detections, continuous filling, lack of filling), it is likely that the other sensors in the same set are in a comparable state of wear. Replacing only the faulty sensor exposes you to the risk of having to intervene again a few weeks later on another sensor. Simultaneous replacement of the entire set guarantees homogeneous sensitivity across all detection thresholds and avoids false levels caused by reactivity differences between a new sensor and aging sensors.

This is particularly important for NIVA 5 and CRBTRN boxes, where the 5 sensors define distinct thresholds (start of filling, end of filling, low water safety, start of overflow, stop of overflow). Inconsistency between sensors can cause unpredictable behavior of the regulator, with untimely filling cycles or forced operation.

Installation in the Surge Tank or Skimmer

For infinity pools (NIVA 5, CRBTRN), the 5 sensors are placed in the surge tank at different heights corresponding to the detection thresholds programmed in the box. CCEI recommends installing them in a channel or PVC pipe to keep them separated, prevent entanglement, and ensure reliable detection. The sensor triggering forced operation (S1) must be below the overflow of the tank.

For skimmer pools (NIVA 3), the 3 necessary sensors are attached inside the skimmer on a mounting rail, at the height corresponding to the desired water level. The provided wiring connects the sensors to the control box installed in the technical room. If the distance exceeds the cable length, it is possible to extend it with a waterproof junction box, without exceeding 50 meters between the box and the junction box.

Pack of 5 or Individual Sensor?

Pool Planet also offers the CCEI stainless steel level sensor individually with 6 m of cabling, for occasional replacement of a single faulty sensor. The pack of 5, however, is the recommended choice when your installation is more than 5 years old or if you experience recurrent malfunctions on the regulator, as it ensures a complete overhaul of the detection system in a single shipment.

Frequently asked questions about the CCEI 5-pack of stainless steel level sensors

What does the CCEI 5-pack of stainless steel level sensors contain? +

The pack includes 5 stainless steel level sensors referenced SE-1, with their cabling. It allows for the replacement of all sensors in a NIVA 5 or CRBTRN control box, or to create a spare stock for a NIVA 3 control box, which only uses 3.

Which CCEI control boxes are compatible with this pack? +

The SE-1 sensors are compatible with the following CCEI control boxes: NIVA 3 (ref. PF10L009), NIVA 5 (ref. PF10L008), Lineo 5S, CRBTRN (ref. PF10L011) and CRNSE. They are interchangeable between models within this range.

Is this pack compatible with the RNS-2 control box? +

No, the RNS-2 control box uses a specific 3-point sensor referenced SE-3 with a 10-meter cable. The SE-1 sensors in this pack are not interchangeable with the SE-3. Please check the exact model of your control box before ordering.

Why replace all 5 sensors at once rather than just one? +

When one sensor starts to fail, the other sensors in the same set are usually in a comparable state of wear. Replacing only the faulty sensor carries the risk of another intervention a few weeks later. Simultaneous replacement ensures homogeneous sensitivity across all detection thresholds and avoids false readings caused by differences in reactivity between new and aging sensors.

Where should the 5 sensors be installed in an infinity pool? +

The 5 sensors are placed in the surge tank at different heights corresponding to the control box's detection thresholds: start of filling, end of filling, low water safety, start of overflow, and end of overflow. CCEI recommends installing them in a duct or PVC pipe to keep them separate and prevent tangling.

Can I use this pack for a NIVA 3 control box that only has 3 sensors? +

Yes, the SE-1 sensors are identical for NIVA 3 and NIVA 5. With a NIVA 3, you will use 3 of the 5 sensors in the pack for immediate replacement, and the remaining 2 sensors will serve as spare parts for future intervention, without having to reorder.

Are the sensors resistant to salt treatment? +

Yes, CCEI stainless steel sensors are specifically designed to resist saline environments. The stainless steel used guarantees complete resistance to corrosion, even in pools equipped with a salt chlorinator with high concentrations.

How to diagnose a faulty level sensor? +

Several symptoms can indicate a sensor at the end of its life: continuous filling that causes the basin to overflow, a complete absence of filling despite a low level, or erratic opening and closing cycles of the solenoid valve. If the wiring and connections to the control box are in good condition, it is likely that one or more sensors need to be replaced.

Can the wiring be extended if the technical room is far away? +

Yes, if the provided cable length is not sufficient, it is possible to extend it using a perfectly waterproof junction box. CCEI recommends not exceeding 50 meters between the control box and the junction box, and using a 5-wire flexible cable for the connection.

Is the level sensor also available individually? +

Yes, Pool Planet also offers the CCEI stainless steel level sensor individually with 6m of cabling, for the punctual replacement of a single faulty sensor. The 5-pack is recommended, however, when your installation is more than 5 years old or if you experience recurring malfunctions, as it ensures a complete overhaul of the detection system.
