Where you would usually need a filtration box on one side and a separate transformer for the projectors on the other, CCEI combines both in a reduced format of 160 × 160 × 140 mm for only 800 grams. Wall mounting is quick as there is no need to open the box to fix it to the wall: the fixing points are directly accessible. Connection is made via the supplied cable glands, ensuring complete watertightness thanks to the IP67 protection rating which guarantees total resistance to dust and temporary immersion — an important asset in a pool plant room where humidity is almost constant.
Three versions to suit your lighting installation
The PICCOLO PI box is available in several versions, distinguished by the power of the integrated toroidal transformer. This transformer lowers the mains voltage (230V) to the extra-low safety voltage (12V AC) required by standard NF EN 61558 for all submerged lighting or lighting installed around the pool.
The PICCOLO PI 305 features a 50 VA transformer, suitable for powering a low-power LED projector such as a Mini-Brio or an economical PAR56 LED projector. It is equipped with a 10 A circuit breaker and is exclusively compatible with single-phase pumps.
The PICCOLO PI 310 offers a 100 VA transformer, sufficient to power one or two LED projectors whose combined power does not exceed 100 watts. Its circuit breaker is rated between 4 and 6 A, and it accepts both single-phase and three-phase pumps, making it compatible with a greater number of installations.
The PICCOLO PI 330 is sized for more ambitious lighting configurations with a 300 VA transformer capable of powering several LED projectors or a high-power halogen projector. Like the PI 310, it operates in single-phase and three-phase with a 4 to 6 A circuit breaker.
Integrated electrical protection and safety
Each PICCOLO PI box incorporates a magneto-thermal circuit breaker that protects the filtration pump against overloads and short circuits. This device automatically cuts off the power in the event of an electrical anomaly, protecting both the pump motor and the installation. The toroidal transformer ensures galvanic isolation between the 230V mains and the 12V projector circuit, in accordance with the safety requirements applicable to electrical equipment in aquatic environments.
For installations requiring an enhanced level of protection, CCEI also offers "ID" versions of the PICCOLO PI (PI 305 ID, PI 310 ID, PI 330 ID) equipped with a 30 mA residual current device. This device detects current leaks related to an insulation fault and instantly cuts off the power, protecting users against the risk of electric shock. Programming and operating modes
The PICCOLO PI's daily programming clock allows you to define one or more daily operating periods for filtration. You have two starting modes selectable via the button on the front of the box: automatic mode (the pump starts and stops according to the programmed slots) and forced operation mode (the pump runs continuously). This flexibility allows you to adapt the filtration time to the water temperature and pool usage. During the summer season, when the water temperature exceeds 25 °C, it is recommended to filter at least 12 hours a day to maintain optimal water quality.
Comparison with other CCEI Piccolo range boxes
The CCEI Piccolo range includes several families of boxes adapted to specific needs. The PICCOLO PI (filtration + lighting) differs from the PICCOLO 10 (filtration only, without transformer) and the PICCOLO PI-NCC (filtration + counter-current swimming). If you don't have a projector to power, the Piccolo 10 is a more economical alternative. If you only need a transformer for your projectors, without filtration management, the PIMT box (projector power supply only) or the PIRF (projector power supply + radio remote control) will be more suitable.
Installation and connection
The PICCOLO PI box is fixed to the wall of the plant room using the supplied wall plugs and screws. The connection of the 230V power supply upstream and the outputs (pump and projector) downstream must be carried out by a qualified person, in accordance with standard NF C 15-100 which governs electrical installations in swimming pool environments. Once the box is wired and programmed, daily use does not require any particular technical skill.
